Summary/Abstract: In her study, the author presented a typology of the European Union countries based on the criteria related to value of exports in the selected service industries and on their share in the total value of services exported from the EU. The research was carried out with application of the method of comparative analysis, while the typological groups of the European Union countries were selected by the Ward’s method. The author pointed out to high sales particularly in the highly developed states of Western Europe as well as to the prevailing importance in the structure of both exports and imports of services, in all the service industries in question, of Germany and the United Kingdom. She also ascertained that the new European Union Member States from the region of Central and Eastern Europe have so far not specialised to any significant degree in trade in services.
