Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the three aspects of globalization and the consequences that this process has on economic and social stratification and the ability of government to lead autonomous policy of their country. In the first part, the author discusses the role of international economic institutions and transnational companies in the process of globalization. Indicates the growing gap between the rich North and the poor South. The second part shows the process of sovereignty decline, and the growing importance of international cooperation.
