Railway Infrastructure in the Podlaskie Voivodeship – Environmental Aspects of Development of the Rail Baltica Rail Line

Summary/Abstract: The transport activity has a significant impact on the environment. Particularly this impact concerns air, water and soil pollution, excessive noise and vibration, and transport accidents. This article concerns transport external costs on the example of the railway Rail Baltica in the region of Podlasie. An aim of the article is to seek answers to the question of whether and how the development of the railway network in the Podlasie region affects the natural environment of that region.
