Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the historiography of Lithuanian philosophy of the Soviet period from the point of view of conflict sociology. The insights of Hayden White on the pre-critical and incommensurable character of different ways of historiographical representation are applied here. The article provides a concise presentation of sociological theories that treat the conflict as an essential form of scientific communication. Within the community of Lithuanian historians of philosophy, contextualists (R. Plečkaitis, A. Poška), argue against the ahistorical Thomists and representatives of mechanistic Marxism. The representatives of philosophical hermeneutics (A. Sverdiolas) argue against the reductionists in a broad sense (where contextualists are also included). Finally, J. Repšys develops an attitude which criticizes the dogmatism and schematism of the Marxism. Repsys expresses the continuous decrease in the accentuation of philosophical partisanship and social determinism, with an increase within the Marxism of the importance of principles of problematic approach.
