Summary/Abstract: The author of the study intends to analyze the traits of the German Expressionism in the Romanian literature. Since this literary movement cannot be precisely outlined in the Romanian authors, one can only debate upon aspects and influences exterted by Expressionism. The Romanian writer chosen for this study and considered to embody the German Expressionism is Lucian Blaga, based also upon his apprehension towards the German culture. The various features of the Expressionism in Blaga’s poems are emphasized by means of comparison to poems of Georg Trakl and Rainer Maria Rilke, both representatives of Expressionism. The selection within the corpus of texts of the three authors is done according to thematic similarities, furthermore considering the specific features of Expressionism.
