Flaubert and the Process of Creation

Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on an analysis of Flaubert’s work in his novel Madame Bovary, based on the author’s Correspondance during his writing. Our interest is to put face to face the author’s comments and the final result as we know it. In order to do this, we will focus on the style, on the narrative structure, on the characters and, most of all, on their discourse. The dialogues will be examined in their evaluative and auto-evaluative dimension, considering the Grice’s Logic and conversation with its fundamental principles.
