PROTECTION AND AQUISITION OF REGISTRIES IN BANKRUPTCY AND LIQUIDATION (experiences and results of the Archive of Tuzla Canton)

Summary/Abstract: All transitional changes of the Bosnian society in the past period reflected indirectly both on the archive activity and in the archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In particular, the ownership changes in the economy have actualized the issue of protection and management of archival material. Poor business results led to the opening of bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings in dozens of legal entities in the Tuzla Canton area. The same added the question of the protection of the material in question, and from the competent archive it requested additional engagement of the professional employees of the Tuzla Canton Archives. The result of professional and strategic approach to this issue is contained in the fact that the Tuzla Canton Archives protected, and took over a considerable number of funds in the field of registry in which bankruptcy or liquidation proceedings were initiated. This paper aims to point out the importance of professional and planned approach and action to address this issue and present the experiences and results achieved by the Archive of Tuzla Canton in this field.
