Summary/Abstract: In order to establish a legal and functional system of office and archival business in schools, a large role is played by the worker who carries out the affairs of the archivist and the director of the school. The archiver is a worker who needs to know the regulations governing the field of office and archive business so that by applying them, he can establish a functional and lawful document management system at school. On the other hand, the director, as a managerial and responsible person, must provide the archiver with the necessary spatial, material and other prerequisites for arranging office and archival business. A functional system of office and archival business has an important role in schools since the creation of documents, sorting into records, up to its movement to public archives. This paper aims to point out the importance of establishing a functional document management system in schools, some of the failures, as well as the role of archivists and directors, for example the establishment of functional office and archive business in the elementary school “Banovici Selo” Banovici.
