Summary/Abstract: The Eastern Baltic Sea region is dominated by state owned and municipal seaports. Therefore while evaluating the sea-port’s performance and the impact of the port’s activities to the national economy, the port managers must carry out a holistic assessment of the activities of the seaport. Mod-ern economic theories suggest that in order to evaluate any economic phenomena, the country’s economic system, its macroeconomic indicators, also social progress and qual-ity of life indicators must be taken into consideration. Given these facts the aim of the paper is to present the method-ological approach of the interaction between the state sea-port governance model and port performance indicators.
