Summary/Abstract: This article describes the relationship between power and media in Bulgaria in the period from 1921 to 1923 during the Bulgarian Agrarian National Union government. The focus of the study is the Press law from 1921 and its reflection to the media environment. The author examines the enactment debated in the National Assembly and various party and public positions, the result on the media environment after voting (how it affects the free press conditions, what and how much are fines and punishments for separate editions), as well as media coverage and reactions of some of the most authoritative daily newspapers (such as “Utro”, “Zora”) party press (“Mir”, “Zemedelsko zname”, “Priaporec”), the issue of Association of capital journalists “Vestnik na vestnicite” and the issue of Union of reserve officers “Otechestvo”.
