Summary/Abstract: The State Industry House in Kharkiv (Gosprom) was built in 1925–1928 according to the project of architects S. S. Serafimov, M. D. Feldger and S. M. Kravets. This administrative building is a prominent example of modernism. In Kharkiv, the 1920s was a period of captivation with new post-revolutionary ideas: internationalism, industrialization, universal equality, the value of collective work. These ideas were reflected in the interiors of Gosprom building. Thus, the focus of the authors being placed on the interiors of public spaces. Serafimov’s team proposed a new solution for the workspaces for employees – large hall space confined by reinforced concrete structures and separated by light partitions. The Gosprom authors’ task was to find the technical and technological solution for the creation of such partitions. In the artistic aspect, all Gosprom interiors are devoid of superfluity and have a common solution. The constructive frame of the building, which is revealed in the interiors, stands out as the main organizing element. In all rooms, structural beams are visible on the ceilings, which are additionally outlined with the geometric profile of suspended ceilings, whose complexity depends on the size of the room. The complex geometry of the frame of the building, curved in an arc, imparts greater expressiveness to the spaces. The main interiors of Gosprom include complex, multi-level, flowing and permeated with sunlight spaces.
