Summary/Abstract: The authors have dedicated this work analyzing the basic characteristics of the legislation on the protection of competition in the member states of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. Special emphasis is given to the harmonization of national legislations of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on the protection of competition and preventing monopoly with agreements on regulating the activities of entities that have a natural monopoly position in the market. In this light the competition rules are being analyzed, then the objectives of the unique competition policy, harmonization of the national legislations of the Union’s member states, the recommendations of the Union whose implementation would lead to the harmonization of national legislation which regulate the activities of entities with a natural monopoly, as well as to the uniformity of the competition rules of the Union’s member states regulating the types and forms of acts and actions that effect or purpose restricting, preventing or distorting free competition in the market. Particular analysis was conducted on the results of the implementation of the recommendations on harmonization of national legislations of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation enacted by the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Eurasian Economic Community (МПА ЕврАзЭС) regulating the activities of entities with a natural monopoly in the market. On the basis of the conducted analysis corresponding conclusions are given at the end of the article.
