Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the study is to describe the distinctive features of the Turkish aspectual adverbials artık, gayrı and bundan böyle ‘from now on’, which are defined as synonymous in Turkish Dictionary and give examples from Turkish teaching. We use the corpus of Turkish textbooks for primary and secondary schools (TTC) (Kurtoğlu, 2013) in the analysis. First, we analyse the usage values, lexical patterns and structures of the aspectual adverbials in Turkish in the written and spoken mediums of the TNC (Turkish National Corpus), then we compare and contrast the results with the results attained from TTC, considering their frequency distribution. It is observed that certain aspectual adverbials appear in certain phrases and structures. According to their temporal features, a certain structure chooses a certain viewpoint and situation type. Teaching aspectual adverbials to students can provide them with awareness in cognition; hence, improve their use of language.
