Summary/Abstract: This text is devoted to analysing and interpreting different images of death in Snow Queen by Michael Cunningham. The author focuses on two images of death. The first is connected with biological death, the second has metaphorical sense, which I called “little death”. This “little death” is connected with depres-sion and melancholy; this is a typical state of mind for the prota-gonists of novel. All heroes feel that their lives are empty. They are aware that in their lives, there is a lack of spirituality, the most valuable feature in postmodern life.
