Summary/Abstract: Proposal for a Psychomechanical Interpretation of the Evolution of the Possessive from Latin to Romance Languages. After a first look at the possessive pronominal forms in French, Italian, and Romanian the article distinguishes between the main morphological, semantic, and especially spatial characteristics of the possessive based on proximity and/or spatial representation of the possessor and the possessed. We reiterate a hypothesis (Saffi:2010) regarding the role of the referential founder that is assigned to the spatial geometry of the vocal apparatus.
