Summary/Abstract: Heinz Piontek was born in Kluczbork and spent the first 18 years of his life there. Conscripted into Wehrmacht, he fought on the western and eastern front, got into American captivity in Bavaria, then he settled for a quarter of a century in the Swabian province, and for another several decades he lived in Munich.
