Summary/Abstract: Due to geographic and traffic position, migrations were characteristic of all periods of the demographic development of the municipality of Nikšić, but the highest intensity, especially internal population movements, they had from the second half of the 20th century. Caused by intensive industrialization, they greatly influenced the spatial distribution of the population, both in the city and in many rural areas of the municipality. In this paper, we will point out the impact of migration on the spatial distribution of the population and changes in population density of certain areas of the municipality. The impacts will be analyzed at the level of municipality, city, all villages, certain areas (Nikšićko polje and Zupa Nikšićka) and some areas with extreme values
