Summary/Abstract: The article analysis problem of political science research connected with the institution of par-liament. Although often said to be a decline in the importance of legislatives, it seems that they are still the central political institution of the modern state. It is considered to be the cause of unremit-ting interest political scientists parliamentarism. Author identifies the main groups of problems are the problem of research. First group is comprehensive studies connecting with the legislatures in a specific political system and comparative studies of selected parliaments or only certain aspects of the functioning of the institution. Parliamentary studies are often theoretical analyzes functions of legislatives and the role of this institution in the political system. Empirical studies relate to the issue of the number of seats in the parliament, the term of office, the relationship between the chambers and the specific rights and obligations of deputies.
