НАУЧНО-ИСТРАЖИВАЧКИ РАД ИЗ ОБЛАСТИ ДЕМОГРАФИЈЕ У ГЕОГРАФСКОМ ИНСТИТУТУ “ЈОВАН ЦВИЈИЋ” САНУ
THE SCIENTIFIC-RESEARCH WORK IN THE FIELD OF DEMOGRAPHY CONDUCTED AT THE GEOGRAPHICAL INSTITUTE “JOVAN CVIJIĆ” OF THE SERBIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS

Summary/Abstract: For the past sixty years of its existence, Geographic Institute «Jovan Cvijić» of the Serbian Academy for Sciences and Art has published thirty-two scientifically-research papers in the field of demography in its edition «Collection of Papers» and six Special editions, which deal with these problems. Within the work on projects of the Institute, which include studies of geographic occurrences and processes in municipalities Veliko Gradište, Golubac, Štrpce, Smederevo, Mionica and districts of Šar-planina (Gora, Opolje and Sredska), special attention has been given to studying of populational problems. One has specially to emphasize the paper “Demographic basis of Regionalization of Serbia”, published within the last decade, which includes more demographic themes and contains both theoretical and practical additions to these problems. Mission of the Institute in the next period will remain to follow and study actual populational thematics and present the results to scientific and expert public through its own publishing activities.
