Investing in precious metals as an alternative form of capital investment

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents relations between precious metal market and financial assets market. This market offers a wide range of instruments. The aim of the paper is to show that diversification of investment risk based on alternative assets is necessary, because they are weakly correlated with traditional assets (stock index and currencies – euro, dolar). The research in the Polish capital market was carried in the period I 2010–VI 2012. The results of analysis indicate practical value of parallel diversification in capital markets analyses.
