Analysis and diagnosis of the volume of renewable energy production in Poland compared to EU countries

Summary/Abstract: Economy based on the sustainable development should aim to minimize the consumption of non-renewable resources and to replace the energy from non-renewable fuels by the energy from renewable sources. The authors show the analysis and diagnosis of the amount of renewable energy generated in Poland, compared to countries of the EU. In addition, the fundamental relationships between selected economic variables and the amount of renewable energy were presented. The authors put emphasis on the development barriers in this sector in Poland, that is especially time-consuming, capital-consuming and complex investment process. Complex administrative procedures, infrastructure, legal and planning constraints permits cause that the dynamics of development in this sector is low.
