The Controversy about the Activity of Erika Steinbach

Summary/Abstract: Erika Steinbach is a German politician, a member ofthe Christian Democratic Union [the German Party CDU], the president of the Federation of Expel-lees in Germany. She is also an initiator of the project of the Berlin Centre Against Expulsions. In Poland, Erika Steinbach is believed to be one of the most unwanted figures of public life. Her behaviour, various statements and activity stir up emotions and lead to Steinbach’s negative reputation in Poland. Thus, Erika Steinbach is often the subject of discussionsand polemics. The aim of this article is to show the activity of Erika Steinbach. Moreover, it is also the attempt to evaluate some of her controversial actions
