Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of emotional intelligence and individual difference on self-acceptance and the acceptance by others. 272 individuals aged 18-72 took part in the study. More women took part in the study (201, or 74%) than men (71, or 26%). The results show that emotional intelligence as a personality characteristic is an essential feature that affects the sense of self-acceptance and acceptance by others. Thus, the perceived emotional notion influence affective states and can enhance the positive attitude of the personality towards himself. It is found that from individual factors only gender has a significant influence on the acceptance of others, and in particular that women are perceived to be more valuable and meaningful than their social groups.
