Summary/Abstract: An economic decision is important not only through its direct consequences – its objective utility – but also through the individual’s perceptions of its outcome. Today, economic decision-making is investigated with interdisciplinary methods, rooted in psychology, economics, mathematics, and computer science. Here we present an experiment in economic psychology which investigated people’s perceptions of their own economic success. The empirical data are analysed with conceptual cluster analysis – a hybrid of the classical cluster analysis and content analysis that is useful for qualitative studies.
