Summary/Abstract: Young people’s behaviour in virtual social networks is studied mainly with respect to their personal characteristics and how these change, or w.r.t. the network’s aggregate properties. The latter kind of study is especially popular when the object of discussion is goods or services, or experiences from holidays, parties, and other similar activities. Relatively little attention is paid to the young people’s attitudes and their motivation to be precise about what they share with others. Here we present an experiment, which studies exactly those attitudes. They are grouped in typical categories by means of conceptual cluster analysis. Our main finding is that generally, young people are positively minded and tend to share accurate information to the benefit of their peers.
