Summary/Abstract: There is a great variety of conceptualizations of authenticity as multicomponent psychological construct, but all of them reveal in most recent studies a surprisingly sustainable trend. Measures of individual and group differences of authenticity in all its components predict reliably the variance of indicators of subjective well-being and mental health. Based on meta-analysis of empirical research conducted in the last decade and with assistance of proposed 4-dimensional authenticity model authors suggest hypotheses about why and how authenticity turns to be a key psychosocial factor for subjective well-being and mental health.
