Summary/Abstract: One of priorities of Western Balkan countries, which are not members of the European Union, is to enter white Schengen list. The “Europe without borders” concept for EU member states became reality after signing Schengen Agreement. Freedom of movement in EU gained a new meaning, and Schengen acquis became a part of EU law. No-visa regime also caused the problem of illegal migration and cross-border crime. This fact made EU member states set high standards for entering white visa list. The concept of white Shengen list gained almost “mythical” meaning. Roadmaps containing measures which countries should undertake in order to enter white Schengen list, were presented to countries aiming to no-visa regime with EU. The author attempted to show the current status of Serbia in this respect.
