Summary/Abstract: In the period of the War and of the Union in the press from Arad there have been published numerous articles presenting various pieces of information about the Romanian royal family. The interest of the intellectuals from Arad for the news regarding the Romanian royal family demonstrates the changes scored in the Romanian society during the war years. The way in which these information have appeared and king Charles I’s glorification show the important role of the dinasty from Bucharest for the Romanians who in that difficult time of war have been living outside Romania and have been obliged to fight for the imperial army. It is a clear proof of the fact that in those difficult war years the Romanian intellectuals from this area, in spite of their apparent loyalty to the authorities from Vienna and Budapest have mantained strong relations with leaders coming from Romania and have fought together with the purpose of fulfilling the ideal of the Great Romania.
