Summary/Abstract: Our study aims to outline the evolution of the Transylvanian social-democratic movement in the autumn and winter of 1918. Based on published documents, memoirs and secondary sources, we will try to outline the transformations scored in the political discourse popularized by the Romanian social-democratic leaders, the approach to the Romanian National Party from Transylvania and the collaboration to its leaders within the Romanian National Central Council, the contribution to the organization of the Romanian structures of authority in the industrial areas and to the organization of the Great National Assembly from Alba-Iulia, the activity developed within the Dirigent Council. At the end of our study we will try to outline the moment of the division of the Transylvanian social-democratic movement at the beginning of 1919 (in the Romanian International Socialist Faction from Transylvania, Banat and Hungary and the Socialist Party from Hungary). All of these, during the interwar period, has invested the social-democrat leaders with prestige, respect and influence, although the social-democratic movement has not managed to impose itself as a force on the Romanian political scene.
