Museum heuristics: theoretical foundations and practical implementation

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Article. The research deals with to the analysis of key previous museum heuristics as a part of museology and cultural paradigm. The ability of the correct and professional searching for reliable and relevant information for the museum, making the conclusions and taking the right decisions, encourages the specialist to study special heuristic methods of scientific knowledge. Methodology. The methodology of the study is to apply such methods as analysis, synthesis, monitoring, terminology, primary sources and historiography research approaches. The presented methodological approaches allow Museum Heuristics to discover the essence of heuristics and to distinguish its main objectives and review Museum Heuristics as a part of Museum studies. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty is to expand ideas about the essence of Museum Heuristics. The historiography of Museum Heuristics is well representative, but we must remark the steady interest of scientists and researchers. It is proved that the museum researching is a logical process,stimulated by intuition, which is activated by the presence of certain subject’s features, professional experience and ability to pre vise and emotional experience of the search process. We use Museum Heuristics to solve the research problems, related to special historical disciplines and museum bibliographic search, to develop reference system, to identify the sources in bibliography, archives and archaeology, to compline reviews and descriptions of sources, guides, catalogs, indexes, dictionaries. Conclusions. Museum Heuristics is a science about museum search, theory and practical skills in organization of it. Museum Heuristics has never been the subject of independent scientific research before it. There are no scientific papers from Museum Heuristics.Therefore, we may underline that there is no any theory of it that is why this research opens new opportunities for future scientific research.
