Summary/Abstract: The paper contains a detailed syntactic and semantic analysis of the words odpowiedni, odpowiednio in Polish. The author substantiates a hypothesis that homonymic lexical units represent different levels of the language namely odpowiedni1 and odpowiednio1 belong to its object level, whereas odpowiedni2, odpowiednio2, odpowiednio3 concern various meta levels. At the beginning of the paper the notion of analogy and its lexical exponents in Polish are considered. With reference to this topic at the end of the article a meaning of the metatextual operator odpowiednio3 as an exponent of proportion is defined.
