PSYCHO-PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH TO THE CONCEPT OF TOLERANCE

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to define the concept of tolerance from a psycho-pedagogical perspective. Our literature review is an attempt to reveal the current state of the art regarding studies and research on the concept of tolerance and psycho-pedagogical approaches to tolerance. Our findings will also highlight the need to clarify the semantic area of pedagogical tolerance in order to reveal the relevance of the values associated with tolerance in education. Our present study is part of our wider research project which aims to see whether and in what way intercultural education may be used to build and promote the values of tolerance.
