Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the typology of security within the Black Sea Region, underlining the fact that regional security is not only an issue of interest to this area but rather to the whole international community, given the significant roles of the European Union and NATO. The geopolitical and security evolution in the Black Sea area, the geography of the region, the current risks and threats to stability in the area, the elements pertaining to political, economic, and military cooperation are, all of them, aspects of increasing interest to the international community and to European and Euro-Atlantic organizations, resulting in a more careful approach of the issues in this region.
