Summary/Abstract: In an extremely troublesome operational environment, given the complexity of specific threats and challenges of modern conflicts, the European Union assumes greater responsibilities in order to maintain a climate of security and stability. In this context, Romania is actively involved in the process of implementation of European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy(CSDP), thus assuring significant participation in many civilian missions and military operations conducted under EU flag.
