Summary/Abstract: In the information age of continuous change the school library should meet its users’ needs of training, education, culture, information and research and the community’s it serves as well as the new challenges brought by the knowledge society. In this context it is necessary to rethink the structures of this infodocumentary institution by finding innovative solutions and methods that lead to the development of its image in the society. Partnerships and educational projects can be successful solutions having in view that today’s libraries are important partners to solve community problems due to the role they play in education, culture and information access. The proceedings of the Section Pedagogical Techniques in the Library carried out within the of the National Conference of the Library Association in Romania (24th edition, Oradea, September, 4-6, 2013) on the topic „Library – research, knowledge, culture” focused on issues the school library face it nowadays, in particular, and Romanian libraries, in general. The emphasis was on increasing the visibility of the library in the society, non-formal education through libraries, new techniques to promote books and reading, supporting the activities of school librarians and documentarists by means of the journals and reviews, strengthening the school-library relation for the development of the educational process, exchanges of experiences and best practices, increasing the respect for the infodocumentary institution
