Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at analyzing the ode L’ira di Apollo (Apollo’s anger) by Alessandro Manzoni, one of the most remarkable representatives of the Italian Romanticism. With this poem Manzoni joins the classico-romantic debate on the presence of the Greek and Roman myths in the poetry. His source of inspiration is a passage from the famous Lettera semiseria di Grisostomo by Giovanni Berchet – an ironic glorification of the classical poetry, inspired by the Greek and Roman mythology. Manzoni, following footsteps of Berchet, presents the mythological imaginary in an ironical way.
