Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the new versions of name origins of lakes and rivers such as Buldiškės ẽžeras, Drabùžis, Drančiùkas, Draudẽnių ẽžeras, Dvõliškis, Dzindzaki (Dindžiaki), Karčiãmetis, Kemešà, Kẽmešė, Kemešỹs, Kūnà, Kurtinỹs, Kurtinulis, Paguži, Pãspitris, Samavà, Sãmė, Samãvas, Sãmis, Sãgavas, Sturta, Sturtos and which were previously analyzed by other toponymists; the research is based on thorough investigation of the origins of Lithuanian toponyms while compiling the Lithuanian Dictionary of Toponyms; the new versions are either based on tendencies and parallels of semantics (motivation), toponym derivation, and origin of this class, or, in some cases, is based on new and previously unnoticed data related to the authenticity and peculiarities of usage of forms of hydronyms.
