Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the main characteristics and main legal features of the acquisitive prescription in comparative law perspective. Besides, under consideration are the relevant provisions of the Russian law, Austrian law, Swiss law, Italian law, French law, Dutch law, US law and UK law. Moreover, the terms and pre-requisitions of acquisitive prescription and the components of possession in good faith and the possession in bad faith are analysed. At the end, the acqusitive prescription in each legislation is examined together with the limitation period, necessary for the acquisition and manifestation of ownership.
