Summary/Abstract: If the Divine Liturgy is the most beautiful vestment of the Eucharist, the supreme form of worship in which, according to the statement of St. Nicholas Cabasilas "is represented by the symbolic rites His whole life and historic activity [of Christ], and finally to reproduce or to make actual His supreme sacrifice of Calvary and the other episodes after it, until His ascension"; if the image is similarity rather than reality itself (against the false premise of iconoclastic theology), then the Holy and Divine Liturgy can be considered a resemblance of the reality that generated it. Therefore, it is natural to question: can we consider the Holy and Divine Liturgy a sort of icon? So, if the answer is yes, then what type of icon do we contemplate? And who is its prototype? Here are some of the questions that we intend to respond to in this paper.
