Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to answer a question which has raised a series of polemics in the French doctrine, namely: To what extent can economic violence be qualified as a vice of consent to the conclusion of a civil legal act, respectively a contract? If the French legislation gave an affirmative answer to such a question, expressly regulating this kind of violence in the art. 1143 of Ordinance no. 2016-131 of 10 February 2016 and thus categorically defining the violence, this study will try to explore and evaluate the necessity and usefulness of adopting such a legal solution in the legislation Romanian, too.
