Summary/Abstract: School library media centres (SLMC) and school libraries are info- documentary structures integrated in the school network of the pre-university educational system in Romania. In Bucharest, the Project „Education for Information” initiated by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport has begun in 2006, and its implementation is still in full development in 2011. The survey based on the investigation of the 22 SLMC in Bucharest approaches aspects concerning: stages of implementing SLMC in the schools included in the project; statistics about SLMC-s in Bucharest, on June 30th, 2011; condition of the teacher-librarians in this info-documentary structures; transition from the school library to the school library media centres; resources, services and information products; SLMC guidance and evaluation.
