Summary/Abstract: A reportage that analyses the life and labour conditions in contemporary China of the working class that, during Mao’s time, represented, together with the peasants, the forerunner of the Cultural Revolution. Nowadays, in a country whose economic expansion troubles both Europe and USA, the workers are living a profound drama ignored both by mass media and especially by those who make rich profits exploiting the workers’ hard work. A China whose economy is based on two antagonistic systems and who is eaten up by the vices of the two systems.
