Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the importance of the archaeological site represented by the Princely Court from Suceava (Suceava County, Romania) which was mentioned for the first time in written sources at the end of the 14th century. During the Middle Ages, when Suceava was the residence seat of the Moldavian rulers (until the 16thcentury), a Princely Court, two fortresses and many churches were built here. A part of these medieval constructions have survived until now. This remarkable heritage is the main pride of the locals (the authorities and common people) in Suceava today and represents one of the symbols of the city. At the same time, we observe that the medieval city with its important constructions is situated in the contemporary downtown area and the medieval constructions are suffocated by the modern buildings and the roads between them. In time, the pressure has grown constantly because the urban development is concentrated in this central area and the local authorities continue to accept new constructions in already crowded area.
