Summary/Abstract: During the Medieval Ages, the most part of the buildings in Suceava were made from wood. The only constructions made from stone were the Fortress of Suceava (at the ending of the 14th century), the Princely Court and some churches (in the 15th and 16th centuries). In that situation, the fire was a common event which could appeared by accident and the destruction was minor and it was located in a part of the city. A different situation was during the war when the city could be destroyed by the enemy and the demolition could be observed on a larger surface. Obviously, it is difficult to link some historical events involved the massive destructions in Suceava, like the military campaigns in the 15th and 16th centuries, with the results of the archaeological discoveries. The events in the history of Suceava can be unearthed by the archaeologists, if the objects and the context are well-documented.
