The Effects of Urban Open Space Environmental Features on User Satisfaction: Trabzon 100.Yil Park Sample

Summary/Abstract: The environment plays a very important role in the environmental psychology literature which perceives the effects of human behavior on the environment. Human behaviors occur in physical and social environments that meet their needs and requirement. For this reason, it is known that environmental psychology is related to the social environment as well as to the physical environment. In the same way, as a result of the physical and social characteristics provided by the open spaces, some spaces are used intensely by the users and some spaces are converted into empty spaces. On this question, it is aimed to investigate the environmental characteristics of open spaces and the effects of their success on user satisfaction. As a research area, 100.Yıl Park with various environmental features within the borders of Trabzon province center was selected. The research method consists of questionnaires. As a result of the study, it has been revealed that the success of the environmental features increases the user satisfaction.
