Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the phenomenon of illegal migration, the methodological difficulties of assessing its scale, shows its structural insurmountability in the global world, as well as the negative consequences that make an imbalance in ensuring national security of states. The authors proposed a methodology for assessing the scale of illegal immigration, and provides recommendations for improving state policy in the field of counteracting illegal migration.
