Pedagogical Formation Program Students' Views about Teaching Profession

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of the Pedagogical formation education students on the profession of teaching. The research in the survey model study. 610 Pedagogical formation education students (461 females and 149 males) having taken the Pedagogical formation education at Abant İzzet Baysal University in the spring term of 2016-2017 academic year. Students are gathered in the framework of 8 programs. These programs include; 1. Sports Science, 2. Language and Literature, 3. Science and Engineering, 4. Economics and Administrative Sciences, 5. Theology, 6. Social Sciences, 7. Health Sciences and 8. Fine Arts. The data were collected through the scale of Attitudes towards the Profession of Teaching. The results of study; 1. Pedagogical formation education students generally have positive opinions about the profession of teaching. 2. The findings revealed that while gender has an important effect on opinions towards profession of teaching program variables do not any significant effect.
