Summary/Abstract: Today, increasing competition power of regions has become one of the most important aims of national and regional development policies. The new competitive environment shaped by the information economies and the fact that the existence of the new global markets is the most important condition is the presentation of the competitive power and the management of the economic growth and prosperity determined by the competitiveness and organization of the region as the key concept of the region constitutes the basis of new competition strategies. The development of the cities; skill, investment, entrepreneurship and competitive factors. For this purpose, in order to ensure the economic development of the cities that want to be ahead of the urban regeneration, there is a need for local and central administrators to make healthy policies to develop cities and to make new regulations in every area. This study focused on the conceptual framework of regional development and regional competition, focusing on new regional competition strategies by evaluating the means and purposes of regional development policies and the importance of regional planning.
