From Modernism to Metaprose of 20th-Century: Mystical-Metafictional Prose of Hermann Hesse, Vladimir Nabokov, and Mikhail Bulgakov

Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the structure of the mystico-metafictional prose of H. Hesse, V. Nabokov and M. Bulgakov, specifically the transitional phase in the movement of the "th century literary process from mystical realism to metaprose. The “artistic two-dimensions” of mystical realism is transformed to a threedimensional structure: the world physical – irracional - transcedental – artistic.
