Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author aims to reveal how the cultural and scientific product can contribute to rural development, thus solving, at the conceptual level, a marketing strategy that would promote the curative component of textiles. THe main therapeutic valences of traditional textiles, according to the author, consist in: the naturalnessof the raw materials from which the textiles were made, the cut, the protective power of the ornaments and, finally yet important, the colourused rationally. Intelligently promoted, these principlescould become more important in the eyes of Westerners, who being affected for a longer periodby the environmental pollution caused by industrialization and urbanization, clearly value the ecoproduct. Thus, the marketing of organic / traditional products can encourage rural territories to explore new ways to become or remain competitive, to capitalize on their assets and overcome the difficulties they might encounter, such as the trend of population aging, low levels of providingservices or lack of employment opportunities. The manufacturing and promotion of the usefulness of the traditional textiles could trigger positive economic growth and employment trends, it is an example of a “traditional sector” able to “redefine its identity” and adapt to the current needs of society.
